This web site is to share with the public my experience with Jim Whittles and Meryl Kadden and their business of plug yours in (aka plugyoursin.com,800 plug yours in, 800 plgursn, and plgursn), California contractor’s license 592179.

Jim Whittles and his wife (we were told that was his wife) agreed to have us build a web site for their new company; a company that appears to be a P.O. Box at Mail Boxes , etc. in Aliso Viejo.  My understanding is the old company they ran went bankrupt.

All parties agreed upon the scope of work, price, and time frame.

Per our agreement, we registered the URL's. That is the reason they do not own 800-plg-urs-n.com and 800plugyoursin.com.  They had to settle for plugyoursin.com even though it does not match their legal business name.

We wrote the content, designed the site, set the account up on the server, etc. 

We fulfilled everything on our end of the agreement within 30 days.

They had wanted to make some minor content changes.  We were waiting on that content.  Once we had it all we had to do was cut and paste and everything was done to their specifications (they had already approved the layouts, etc.).

Despite our follow up, the content never came.  Then they stopped taking or returning our calls.  We were finally told that they hired someone else and they no longer needed our services.  Meryl actually had the gall to tell me “We never had a legal agreement”.   We feel they left us high and dry.

In my opinion, we would prevail in small claims court.  However, I would rather let the world (especially potential clients of theirs) know of our experiences with the Whittles' & Kadden.

Hopefully this has some impact on your decision as to whether you want to do business with people of this caliber.
